CSW60 NGO Forum Consultation Day took place on March 13, 2016 in New York, NY. The Consultation Day was a first step for the UN CSW60 meetings between 14-24 March 2016 and a helping hand for the participants to establish and improve communications among the organizations and individuals. At the program, UN women directors, international women leaders, and CSW60 women awardees spoken out about women’s empowerment and sustainable development goals.
The CSW60 priority theme was women’s empowerment and its link to sustainable development goals. All of the NGO’s and individuals at the event became a strong and profound voice to address women’s problems all over the world and develop concrete solutions in gender equality, women’s empowerment, and sustainable developments.
The first program at the consultation day started with an opening speeches of Antonio de Agular Patriota, UN Ambassador and Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the UN Women Executive Director. After the first initial programs, the Consultation day continued with advocacy training programs and discussion panels. At the end of the day, the participants were delighted by a magnificent music by Stacy Beyer “She has a Right and Keep on Moving Forward” and two remarkable poets (Alixa and Naima) with a profound performance “Climbing PoeTree”.
